It is good app to learn to type, go slow at soon you learn (respond slow to your type) but it is good for people in level1

My daughter and me are working with the application to leanr how to type fast. At least is great fun and relax using the app! Hopefully we will forget our bad habits!

After a reboot, I can see the whole screen and skip the intoduction. Runs fine on my Mac Mini 3,1 Core 2 2GHz duo, 1 GB memory. Graphics are nice, background music is alright, but, I have TWO kids, ONE mac, and want to keep seperate results for each child. After emailing the text of my original review with gripes, the developer almost immediately emailed me back explaining the basic Apple Mac stuff I did not know, and how to do what I wanted, to create a seperate login to my Mac for each child, to keep each result seperate. I want to run the program in a window smaller than full screen, I just have to tell it less resolution than what my desktop is set to use. He also explained how to reset the program back to the orginal state. No apparent way to generate reports, but it never said it did. I probably dont need to track my kids progress given how quickly they are learning. BOTH 8 yr. old sons like this program. The combination of easy to understand lessons and easy to understand game that each build letter by letter works for my kids extremely well. My kids are happy and learning a lot faster than I did, back in the manual typewriter days. I then purchased the iPad version. Also works great, needs earbuds to hear the sound (no surprise there), and I found out that the smaller than full size Logitech keyboard I use is really the wrong thing to use to learn to type. The iPad version would be great with a stand for the iPad and a full size bluetooth keyboard. Instead, I am going to buy a copy for each of my boys laptops to keep them from hogging my mac. This program is much better for the new beginner to typing than anything else I can find. After my kids can touch type Ill run them through a course on business typing and formatting. Great program, well done, FANTASTIC support response, would have given it a better review originally if I knew my Mac Mini better.

Opening this application was a wonderful experience, the introduction alone shows you how this application is going to be very interactive and user friendly. After using this application for a while I realized how easy and fun this application was. Learning how to type with this application is a great experience, and the competitive aspect of playing against yourself and always wanting to do better only helps you become a better typist. The program has a great, fun, animated character that leads you through understanding how to type. There is music in the background that is great to have playing as you learn how to type. I have used other typing programs to facilitate in helping the speed of my typing, but this program truly surpasses others that I have experienced. Overall, this program is great for people learning how to type correctly especially since the color coded fingers match the virtual keyboard onscreen which really helps you remember where to correctly position your fingers and which fingers go where on each key. I would highly recommend this program to anyone wanting to speed up their typing, someone just wanting to learn to type correctly, or a person completely new to computers.

I purchased this app to brush up on my typing skills. Cute concept, pleasant graphics… However there is a moving banner on the right hand side of the screen, about a quarter of the way from the top. The brightly colored animated banner scrolls through other applications the developer is promoting and I find it to be extremely distracting in a learning environment. I emailed the developer thinking that surely there would be a way to remove it once it had been viewed. To their credit, I received a response in minutes. The answer was that the graphics are for the users information. I responded that the information about other products is easily accessible in other ways. Again, very responsive, a second email expressed that they are listening to my feedback and that removing the distracting banner will be considered for the next update in September. I will watch for the removal…. if that happens I will try again to use the app. For now, I feel like I just tossed away the dollars. For me the distraction is too great and I am unhappy that a paid app would have such a prominant banner advertising other products.

Im running OS X 10.8.1 (Mountain Lion) and the app is unresponsive. It would have been nice to have known this before wasting my money.

I just purchased this app. It does not work. I run 10.8.2. Next time, I will follow the advice provided in the product reviews.

I was pleasantly suprised at how good this app is. Probably one of the best apps in the entire app store- that teaches you how to type. I highly recommend it.

An interactive way of learning how to type or brush up on your typing skills. A relaxing atmosphere is created to help aid in learning how to properly sit and type. You are talked through all stages of activities. There are 32 levels which you are guided through with Dennis your intereactive tutor. Each lesson has 2 parts. First lesson is learning hand positioning on the key board and the second part is using your memory on key location and learning the motions with speed.The graphics are beautiful and the key board is color coded. In my opinion I would like for the tutors voice to be a bit more clear, the accent will throw younger childern wanting to learn to type off. There should also be a level for experencenced typist. I do reccommend this app for beginners or for someone needs to brush up on speed and keys again.

I think this is a great program for teaching school aged children typing. The color coding and game play make it a fun way to teach a necessary skill. It covers the standard method of using the keyboard with correct posture, both hands and all 10 digits & it’s priced very well for what you are getting.

I have been using computers for twenty five years and never learned to type properly, this program has been teaching me to type properly with great ease. Finally I can claim to be a true computer user. Thank you Typing Fingers.

I love this when it works but freezes up on me after 5 to 10 min use. Very frustrating!

We really have loved Typing Fingers, but recently there’s been a lot of problems with the program not recognizing the correct key stroke. For example, I’ll push the letter ‘k’ when you’re supposed to push that letter and it gives you a beep that it’s the wrong letter. The problem is intermittent. Customer service explained how you have to go through the tutorial online to make sure a bunch of setting are correct on your company. There’s a youtube video that take you through it. It has worked fine after that.

Nine year old absolutely loved this app at first. Then it began not registering key strokes. She persevered because she liked the app ; but ultimately became frustrated and quit using it at all due to this problem. Either fix it or quit selling this product!

Save your money and DONT buy this. This application is not useful at all to learn how to type. Its garbage.
