Very very unhappy

I purchased this app to brush up on my typing skills. Cute concept, pleasant graphics… However there is a moving banner on the right hand side of the screen, about a quarter of the way from the top. The brightly colored animated banner scrolls through other applications the developer is promoting and I find it to be extremely distracting in a learning environment. I emailed the developer thinking that surely there would be a way to remove it once it had been viewed. To their credit, I received a response in minutes. The answer was that the graphics are for the users information. I responded that the information about other products is easily accessible in other ways. Again, very responsive, a second email expressed that they are listening to my feedback and that removing the distracting banner will be considered for the next update in September. I will watch for the removal…. if that happens I will try again to use the app. For now, I feel like I just tossed away the dollars. For me the distraction is too great and I am unhappy that a paid app would have such a prominant banner advertising other products.
